Article title

I am confused by the article title based upon MOS:PEOPLETITLES. Shouldn't the article name be First lady of the United States vs. First Lady of the United States. (I see that First lady of the United States routes to this article, while First Lady redirects to First lady.)–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:59, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Much as I wish it were not so, the title is correctly capitalized per MOS:JOBTITLES, because it is the full form, not plural, and not preceded by a modifier or determiner such as the. See bullet 3, just before the table of examples. Wallnot (talk) 01:28, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Potential male title

This sentence is throwing me off: "Each of the 46 presidents of the United States have been male, all of whom have either had their wives, or a female hostess, assume the role of first lady." There is definitely a distinction between the presidents of the United States and the office of President of the United States. 45 presidents have served over 46 presidencies and this appears to be addressing the 45 men who have served as president... not the 46 presidencies that have been served by those 45 men. 198.181.240.4 (talk) 02:55, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested edit:

This is about to come up again, so I'm gonna kick off the talks early. Suggested wording to implement on 20 January 2025 at 12 ET:

Each of the 45 [Note: Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump were both elected to two non-consecutive terms and, as such, are counted twice, as the 22nd and 24th, and 45th and 47th presidents, respectively.
