The song by steampianist

[edit]

There was a song about Albert Fish by steampianist. Perhaps include it in the popular culture section. YT link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0yo8BREgD0 75.135.172.96 (talk) 22:38, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. That's where I first heard of him. I agree that it should be added under pop culture. I was surprised not to see it there, but I also commonly listen to weird, niche music. Maskedmarrow (talk) 21:05, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is quite good, but I don't think it's notable enough, I don't see much people talking about it. Cyb3rstarzzz (talk) 14:56, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
9 million views doesn't sound non-notable, though. Gawaon (talk) 06:26, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Letters

[edit]

The letters are too explicit and should not be shown in this article 37.159.102.226 (talk) 17:07, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, we can’t give a person like this a voice. 37.159.102.226 (talk) 17:08, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not censored, even if something is found to be exceedingly offensive. Sorry. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:58, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Had a similar "well that's a bit much" reaction, but it's not about censorship; it's about WP:WEIGHT and MOS:QUOTE. Wikipedia articles summarize the available sources, using direct quotes sparingly. What exactly do these letters offer the reader beyond a summary? It seems like it's just because of how lurid they are, which isn't a good reason to include. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 02:16, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The letters at least provide some sort of aspect to Albert Fish life and in my opinion thus contribute to the article James dick (talk) 03:14, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, they offer good insight into his psyche. Gawaon (talk) 18:44, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Me too. The letters show how deeply twisted and broken he was. It really gives a glimpse into the depraved psyche of that terrible monster. It also shows the horror of the parents, the terror of the confirmation, even though not knowing feels worse. The terror and disgust of knowing what atrocities were committed to your child, who you loved, and were praying was still alive. It's a source that should be shared, but should possibly be warned about beforehand. Maskedmarrow (talk) 21:10, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrectly stated mothers age.

[edit]

Fish’s mothers age is absurd and not mathematically sound in this article. Please facilitate a change for accuracy. 68.68.91.10 (talk) 15:37, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you think so? According to the article, she was 31 or 32 when he was born. That sounds plausible enough. Gawaon (talk) 17:35, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In popular culture, American Rapper Tyler, The Creator has a song called Fish. In this song he makes references to Albert Fish. Gooridoinkhill1 (talk) 02:29, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 02:41, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In the "victims" section

"the most of whom were African-American or had developmental disabilities"

Should be either:

"most of whom" (without "the")

Or alternatively "the majority of whom"

You can pick which one.
