I found this on the web. I thought it should be confirmed before being included:

"While Tal lay dying, one of the assassins knelt and lapped with his tongue the blood flowing across the marble floor. That grisly scene, reported in The Times of London and other major newspapers..."

"Four of its members assassinated Wasfi al-Tal, Jordan's prime minister and the enemy of the Palestinians, on the steps of the Sheraton Hotel in Cairo. Tal's last words were: "They've killed me. Murderers, they believe only in fire and destruction." <Uriya Shavit, Haaretz Newspaper, May 28, 2002>

"On 28 November 1971, an organization which was to leave an indelible mark on the history of political terror and the modern Middle East committed its first murder. Four armed Palestinians, operating in broad daylight and without the benefit of masks, shot dead the Jordanian Prime Minister, Wash Tel, as he returned to Cairo’s Sheraton Hotel from an Arab League meeting. The assassination itself was followed by a gruesome ritual as one of the killers knelt down, lapped up and drank some of Tel’s flowing blood and shouted several times that he and his accomplices belonged to Black September. " <Cedar Land, a Lebanese Site http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Parliament/2587/black.html> —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.251.34.73 (talkcontribs)

your sources are not reliable (3rd) quote or biased (1st and second), I will scan and post some articles on egyptian newspapers about the incident, just ask. The 'blood licking' line should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.224.229.9 (talk) 23:12, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Born in 1919, so where?

[edit]

It looks like Mandatory Palestine wasn't established until 1920. So where was he born? Best I can figure, it would be part of the Ottoman Empire still, since the dissolution hadn't completely happened. Would that or Ottoman Syria be a better country identifier for the place of birth? —C.Fred (talk) 21:26, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Technically it was Occupied Enemy Territory Administration. Just “Transjordan” as a geographical region would suffice. Makeandtoss (talk) 22:38, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Does anyone know the accuracy of his birth date in the Wiki article? The New York Times and The Jordan Times say he was born in 1920 [1][2]. Wafflefrites (talk) 18:51, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This source also says 1920 [3] so I will make the sourced changes to the birth year on this article. Also both this source and NYT say that he was born in Irbid, which is in Jordan, but the Wiki lead say he was born in Turkey. I think this should be changed to Irbid.
